Senior Managed Services IT Help Desk Technician

OVERVIEW:

Fast paced technical support/consulting company in Oakland, MD looking for an experienced technical support representative to assist clients remotely and in the field. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a managed services environment as well as familiarity with PSA/RMM tools. Field work will largely consist of new equipment installations, office moves, user issues, machine swaps, and wiring jobs. Candidates must be very organized and independent with an ability to run jobs from start to finish with timely and accurate documentation.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience with PSA/RMM systems is preferred
  • Strong organization skills including detailed time entry and documentation.
  • Microsoft Windows Operating Systems including server installation, configuration, and troubleshooting proficiency
  • Router/Networking installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
  • Strong wiring knowledge, ability to run network cable, terminate keystones, install patch panels, etc
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities A MUST
  • Availability to work M-F with some after hours as required (Shifts available starting at 8:30am, or 10:00am)
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
  • Must be willing to submit to background check
  • Ability to lift 50lbs

PREFERRED:

  • 5+ years experience in technical support
  • Extensive Connectwise, Kaseya, and/or Continuum experience a BIG PLUS
  • Current Microsoft, and/or CompTIA A+, NET+, Security+ certifications
  • Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange Proficiency
  • Group Policy Proficiency
  • Phone System / VoIP experience
  • DVR / CCTV / Security camera installation experience

OVERVIEW:

Fast paced technical support/consulting company in Oakland, MD looking for an experienced technical support representative to assist clients remotely and in the field. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a managed services environment as well as familiarity with PSA/RMM tools. Field work will largely consist of new equipment installations, office moves, user issues, machine swaps, and wiring jobs. Candidates must be very organized and independent with an ability to run jobs from start to finish with timely and accurate documentation.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Swap out and/or maintain desktop or laptop PC hardware, software, components or peripherals.
  • Provide Level 2 PC field support directly onsite for client problem resolution.
  • Ensure compliance of desktop and laptop PCs with IT standard configurations and procedures.
  • Utilize MS Windows Server administration tools to resolve client issues.
  • Troubleshoot PC operating systems.
  • Utilize software distribution tools and standard desktop support tools.
  • Become familiar with specific Business Unit environments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s or BA/BS degree in Computer Science, related field certifications, or equivalent experience providing desktop support or Help Desk services.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and basic computer support are required for this position.
  • Strong analytical skills to resolve problems and think creatively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a virtual environment (working with remote co-workers using virtual technologies).
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Lync
  • Must be willing to submit to background check
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
